Fairy Glen Falls
Fairy Glen Falls is a popular tourist attraction located in Rosemarkie, Fortrose, United Kingdom. The falls offer a stunning view and beautiful forest walk that is both family and dog-friendly. Visitors to Fairy Glen Falls are advised to wear proper shoes and be careful around the rocky, sliding terrain, especially with small children. The adventure-filled walk includes climbing some small rocky steps and crossing a narrow path with the waterfall waters to one side and no banisters in the side of a 2 metres fall. There is a rope attached to the wall that can be used for safety, making the experience safe yet thrilling. Family of 4 (2 small kids) loved the walk. It is a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommend it. Nice beach, public toilets, and restaurants are nearby . During the walk you will have to climb some small rocky steps at some stage and cross a very short but intricate path ( narrow ) with the waterfall waters to one side and no banisters in the side of a 2 metres fall … that made me giggle because the bannisters/ fences were on the side of the rocky wall. I guess that is to avoid kids climbing and falling over. You can still hold yourself from them and also from a rope attached to the wall so you can be safe. All this give you the feeling of adventure. The place wasn’t empty , there were people walking around, and wifi was excellent . Oh!! I know, you are never to high and the water is not deep at all but is rocky and sliding. So be careful . Wear proper shoes, and mind the trees roots. They are prominent all over the floor. One of my little kids is autistic so we were super careful with all that kind of details .

These were epic falls. We were here in the winter following heavy rain fall and it was awesome.

The Car Park itself was easily accessible from the road and free, we approached from Inverness. The roads leading aren't too bad, through the villages close by they can be a little narrow. But the walk from the car park, which also has a few bike racks available, is decently sign posted. The area is beautiful, the sound of birds ringing in the air. There is a donation bin along the walk way, which helps them maintain the area. The path isn't too bad, although there are a few spots that are affected by tree roots. As you can see it was a lovely day, but I can imagine the roots could be slippy when wet. Even though the days had been really nice leading up to our visit, with little to no rain fall, the falls we're still a wonderful sight to see. I shall be returning again, I shall try and get a day that has had a pretty decent rainfall, so I can see the falls in all its glory. Would highly recommend the walk. Stunning!
